GPS panic system

MySpot is a personal security tracking system for GPS-enabled smartphones.

The system is Symbian certified software that gives users an SOS panic button on their mobile phone. The button allows users to activate ‘call cascading electronic breadcrumbs’ in emergency situations.

When activated, the system can, without further user intervention, call up to 20 preconfigured phones, as well as send unlimited email, SMS, IM and twitter messages. Each of these messages can contain information on the current or last location of the user.

As a backup, one phone number is also automatically dialled from the phone, such as 000, back-to-base for security operatives or, in the case of a child, the child’s parent.

Users can set a countdown for their SOS, so if they don’t abort the countdown before it finishes, an SOS will be sent to predetermined recipients, without the user’s intervention.
