ARCIA events for 2014
ARCIA will be holding a number of industry events around the country, including seminars and the annual gala dinner.
The first will be combined ARCIA and APCO-Australasia (APCO-A) functions for the communications industry and users in Perth on 10 April, to be held at the Pagoda Ballroom in South Perth.
APCO-A will present an afternoon seminar along the lines of the very popular events held in the eastern states last year. The seminar will focus on topics of interest to the public safety community as well as the communications industry and are sure to be educational. The event will also encourage the transfer of information between the various people attending, in a casual networking environment.
The seminar will include presentations from APCO-A and ARCIA, including one on change management and another on the unifying of critical communications. These will be followed by a panel discussion involving local emergency service personnel, after which there will refreshments and time for networking ahead of the ARCIA dinner that evening.
The ARCIA Regional dinner will offer the industry in Western Australia the chance to catch up on the ARCIA plans for the coming year and hear what progress has been made in the training area. It is hoped that the events will be co-promoted and that there will be a good attendance at both events from all sectors of users and suppliers.
Later in the year, there will be an ARCIA industry dinner in Sydney on 18 June, to coincide with Comms Connect Sydney. There are also plans being made for the Brisbane regional event to be held in early August as well as the Adelaide dinner in November. Following on from the successful ‘Sundowner’ events in Perth, ARCIA is looking at more of these informal networking events in other areas around Australia. Finally, the annual Industry Gala Dinner will be held in Melbourne on 1 October. Keep an eye on the ARCIA website and Critical Comms for details.
