ARCIA issues white paper on intrinsic safety
The Australian Radio Communications Industry Association (ARCIA) has released a white paper titled ‘Electronic Equipment for Hazardous Areas’ (EEHA), which explains and demystifies the requirements for intrinsic safety equipment.
The document, which has been written by an authorised assessor from within the hazardous area evaluation sector, aims to reduce confusion. It goes into depth with explanations of various factors involved, details of the only approved Australian standards (ANZEx and IECEx) and references to other standards, and a comprehensive FAQ section.
The document is available for download from the ARCIA website and is expected to become ‘the bible’ for industry personnel and users who need information on explosion protection.
