ARCIA presents state awards
In the lead-up to the national industry awards, ARCIA has recognised individuals from Victoria and South Australia.
At an ARCIA ‘sundowner’ in Burwood, Melbourne on 20 October, Tony Biddiscombe of Commsite Integrated Communications was presented with the Industry Professional of the Year award for the Victorian/Tasmanian region.
Commsite provides radio communications systems and is involved in many other aspects of electronics and communications in the locale.
The business has more than 30 employees, including two apprentices.
At a similar event in Adelaide in September, Mario D’Agostino of the Country Fire Service (CFS) was presented with the South Australian Industry Professional of the Year award.
D’Agostino was instrumental in the successful implementation of the CFS radio contract, one of the largest outside of the South Australian government radio network.
Both Biddiscombe and D’Agostino will be in the running for the Peter Wallace Award, to be presented during the Industry Excellence Awards ceremony at the annual ARCIA Industry Gala Dinner in Melbourne on Wednesday, 23 November.
The Industry Excellence Awards cover eight categories, from the Apprentice Trainee Award to the Engineering Excellence Award.
Nominations for these awards close on Friday, 4 November. Full details are available here.
