BAI provides management services for NSW SES
The NSW State Emergency Service (SES) has appointed BAI to provide dedicated project management services in support of its operational communications equipment rollout.
The Operational Communications Business Case developed by the NSW SES has confirmed funding approval for the replacement and refresh of operational radio communications equipment over the next five years. BAI project management services will assist the NSW SES with the planning, procurement and rollout of the program of works that will deliver enhanced communication services and capability to NSW SES operational teams across the state.
BAI is responsible for the provision of transmission services for the ABC and SBS and holds a number of long-term federal and state government network contracts in Australia. BAI, through its subsidiary, Airwave Solutions Australia (Airwave), constructs and manages statewide mission-critical communication networks for both the public and private sector. In June it was announced that Airwave had secured the operations and maintenance contract for the NSWGRN (of which the NSW SES is a user agency).
The NSW SES operational communications program of works will assist 229 operational field units across NSW and encompass organisation-wide usage by the 10,000 volunteers and 300 members of staff.
BAI’s dedicated project resources will be colocated with the NSW SES team from 1 October 2013.
