Book now: Comms Connect Sydney on 18-19 June
If you haven’t already registered to attend to the first Comms Connect Sydney, now is the time to do so. The event is rapidly approaching - to be held on 18-19 June at the Australian Technology Park in Sydney.
The organisers have lined up a stellar range of speakers, including Rod Gilmour, Chairman, NSW Telco Authority, and Shane Fitzsimmons, Commissioner, NSW Rural Fire Service.
Gilmour’s presentation will outline the unique role of the Telco Authority in supporting the NSW Government including public safety agencies, including the key achievements of the authority over the last three years.
Gilmour will also discuss: the benefits of industry and government collaboration; the authority’s strategic activities and vision to provide the best opportunities and outcomes; the services it provides to NSW Government agencies, now and in the future; and how it can support agencies improve services to the NSW community while reducing waste.
Fitzsimmons’ presentation will cover the communications environment for public safety agencies today and into the future, including how it is increasingly fluid and shaped by a dynamic mix of continuing and emerging challenges, technologies, expectations and opportunities. This delivers a need for immediate access to multiple types and channels of communication - not just wireless communications, but real-time data from incident locations, command centres, airborne solutions, as well as commercial radio, TV and social media. Bringing all this together, to deliver effective and balanced communication in crisis environments, is just one component of emergency response.
Dozens of other speakers across the whole range of converged critical communications will give presentations and take part in workshops. And dozens of exhibitors will display their latest wares and solutions. The full lists can be viewed on the Comms Connect website.
In conjunction with Comms Connect, ARCIA will hold an industry networking dinner at the Dockside Restaurant at Cockle Bay Wharf.
So if you’re involved in any way with critical communications in Australasia, you need to make sure you attend Comms Connect Sydney. Registration and other details are available on the Comms Connect website.
