Codan wins export award
Codan’s involvement with more than 150 overseas markets has been commended, with the South Australian-based electronics firm winning a top export award.
Codan took out the Information and Communication Technology category at the 2011 Business SA Export Awards, held at the National Wine Centre in Adelaide.
Managing Director, Donald McGurk, said, “The company’s business strength is in managing a complex manufacturing supply chain and offering innovative solutions to our customers.
“This includes selling radio communications products and mine clearance detectors to remote and sometimes difficult to reach countries, satellite equipment to first world satellite system integrators and metal detectors into mainstream consumer markets.”
Over 85% of the company’s revenue comes from sales to export markets.
Headquartered in South Australia, Codan employs around 450 staff on 12 company sites across Australia, the US, the UK, Ireland, China and India.
The export awards acknowledge the contribution to the State and national economy made by exporters, by providing public recognition of outstanding Australian performance.
Winners of these awards automatically progress as national finalists to the Australian Export Awards, hosted by Austrade and the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
