Comms Connect comes to Sydney
WFevents, organiser of the Comms Connect conference and exhibition, today announced the launch of a satellite event to help even more users benefit from the gathering of industry experts that takes place during Comms Connect. The first Comms Connect satellite event will be held in Sydney, at the Australian Technology Park, 18-19 June 2014.
Paul Davis, event director, WFevents, said, “We’ve been looking at how we can better serve the market - both users and industry - for quite some time now. A satellite event in Sydney, with the option to rotate to other cities each year, will give those who don’t get to Melbourne access to the quality conference material and training workshops on offer. It won’t be a carbon copy of the Melbourne event, but it will be substantial in terms of depth of conference material and technologies available to exhibition visitors on the show floor.”
ARCIA - the Australian Radio Communications Industry Association - is fully supportive of the new initiative and sees it as a very exciting development for the converging communications environment here in Australia. Hamish Duff, ARCIA President, said of the initiative, “There are those who can and will travel to the national show and those who can’t or won’t. This being the case, it’s a great idea to run a satellite show giving them access to Comms Connect conference content and workshops. We’ve been holding our networking dinner in Sydney for the last couple of years and plan to hold it alongside Comms Connect Sydney in 2014 and see this as a further opportunity to work together and cement our longstanding relationship, which will aid the growth of the sector and ensure users are getting access to the very latest information and technologies.”
A call for papers for Comms Connect Sydney will be published soon, with interested parties able to express their interest by making contact with the Comms Connect team from today.
