Emergency Management Otago, Smart Christchurch join a full Comms Connect NZ program
The Comms Connect NZ conference program has been boosted by the addition of two presentations focusing on resilience and warning systems in the face of natural disasters. The event will be held at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre from 13–14 June.
Craig Gibson from Emergency Management Otago will share some of the critical comms technology being used by the team with regard to monitoring the Alpine Fault in the South Island, and an update on Project AF8. Meanwhile, Smart Christchurch Program Manager Michael Healy will present on the sensor warning systems that his team are deploying in and around Christchurch, using IoT technology.
The event will also feature keynotes from Paul Smith, Relationship Manager at Next Generation Critical Communications (NGCC), speaking on the journey so far for the new Public Safety Network NZ, and Josh Bahlman, Head of Telco Cloud at Spark NZ, who will share details of his company’s recent 5G standalone network trials, which will be followed by a panel discussion with three of the tech companies that worked on the trials.
The event will welcome over 500 communications and technology leaders from across the region, with an exhibition floor featuring 45 leading critical comms vendors and a speaker line-up of over 40 industry experts. Early-bird discount passes are available until 15 May.
