EMPA conference for 2022
Thursday, 05 August, 2021
The Emergency Media and Public Affairs association (EMPA) has announced its Disaster and Emergency Communications Conference for next year will be on 11–13 May 2022 at Sydney’s Novotel Olympic Park. The organising committee has commenced planning and we’ll be announcing further information later in the year.
Until then, the association reminds those interested of the EMPA monthly free webinars. Held on the last Wednesday of each month, the last webinar broadcast a full report on the outcomes of the latest ethical insights workshop, held at the Sydney EMPA conference in June.
The next free webinar is on Wednesday, 25 August. It features Kylie Holmes, Facebook’s global policy head of crisis and disaster response, who will connect from the USA to discuss Facebook’s suite of disaster and crisis response tools and how and when they activate. She will be joined by Chery Seeto, Facebook’s policy programs manager for New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
