EMPA webinar to launch communication principles
Tuesday, 28 September, 2021
Emergency Media and Public Affairs (EMPA) is a world body for disaster and emergency communicators. Formed in 2006, it runs specialised conferences and training programs in Australia and New Zealand. EMPA has also established formal affiliations in USA and UK.
EMPA’s popular monthly communications webinars are now being offered across the board to the EM community in Australia and New Zealand. The webinars are free to attend and the program is being continuously evolved in response to latest developments.
The first for September will present EMPA's principles of communication in disaster and emergency. It will be presented on 29 September 2021, at 10 am Australian Eastern Standard Time. The organisation has been working on this principle for a while and this collaborative document will be launched to the sector at this month’s webinar.
It is intended that the document will become a ‘bible’ for all disaster communications practitioners; it is the cornerstone of EMPA’s ongoing commitment to build a ‘community of practice’ across the sector.
The project has been led by EMPA Director Rebecca Riggs, who will host a panel of the members and fellows who were key contributors.
