ETSI to hold rail comms workshop
The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) will hold its first workshop on next-generation radio for railway operations on 2–3 November at the organisation’s headquarters in Sophia Antipolis, France.
The workshop will encompass the evolution of railway telecommunications beyond GSM-R, which was developed and standardised by ETSI, and will provide an opportunity to exchange information on the status of developments such as 5G, spectrum needs, the attractiveness of future technologies and synergies with other sectors.
