Hytera Mobilfunk acquires fjord-e-design
Hytera Mobilfunk has acquired fjord-e-design (FED), a German company that specialises in wireless protocols.
FED will provide its experience in the development of TETRA and TEDS protocol stacks as well as TETRA measurement technology to Hytera.
The existing users of the business fields of protocol stacks and measurement technology will continue to be managed from the Flensburg location (where FED is situated) and the sales area for measuring technology in Germany will remain with the company’s sales team.
Hauke Holm, managing director of FED, commented, “Our experience with TETRA and TEDS fits Hytera’s competencies in the field of system infrastructure technology and radio terminals.”
Dr Georg Haubs, managing director of Hytera Mobilfunk, sees multiple synergies for the users of both companies.
“The acquisition of FED is an important step for Hytera Mobilfunk to accelerate the further development of the TETRA portfolio towards TETRA-2/TEDS as well as LTE. In future, we will be able to react to the demands of the market even faster and together we will offer the best and most innovative products, both with regard to infrastructure and with regard to radio terminals,” Dr Haubs said.
