Hytera supports earthquake relief in Yunnan
Following the 6.5-magnitude earthquake in Yunnan, China, on 3 August, Hytera donated emergency communications equipment and sent a team of engineers for communications support.
At least 589 people died from the powerful earthquake and thousands of others were seriously injured. In the immediate aftermath of the earthquake, Hytera shipped and installed a DMR Tier III system which included MSO, base station and 100 digital portable radios. This provided crucial emergency assistance to the earthquake-stricken areas - when the earthquake struck, the public communications network was seriously damaged, bringing great difficulties to the rescue efforts. The rescue teams were connected via the communications system and could transmit on-site images to the command centre for better deployment.
Hytera also supported the earthquake relief in Ya’an, Sichuan province last year.
