Monthly spectrum update from RSM New Zealand
Radio Spectrum Management has issued its latest regular monthly update, which covers a number of items of interest to the radiocommunications industry.
First up is a small update to the ‘Table of Radio Spectrum Usage in New Zealand’ to incorporate amendments to the ‘New Zealand Table of Allocations’ that reflect on revisions to General User Licences.
Some changes have also been made to the ‘Radiocommunications Regulations (General User Radio Licence for Short Range Devices) Notice 2015,’ which was updated on 30 July 2015.
RSM said that the revision “expands a few of the existing provisions in the LF and MF ranges to cover slightly wider frequency limits and amends the respective special conditions, mainly to harmonise with international standards”.
It also incorporates two provisions transferred from a General User Spectrum Licence in the frequency range of 49.82 to 49.98 MHz as the corresponding Management Right expires at the end of August 2015.
RSM has also decided to delete special condition 24 that was previously applicable to the frequency range of 921 to 928 MHz.
Last month, RSM detailed a conviction for illegal use of dog tracking equipment. This month it has revealed another conviction for such activity. The man was fined NZ$1000 for using illegal dog tracking equipment. He was also sentenced to 4 months’ community detention for unlawful hunting and 9 months’ disqualification for dangerous driving.
The sentencing judge imposed an order for the forfeiture of the illegal devices.
