NZ leads the way in public safety comms integration — a Comms Connect exclusive
The Southern Hemisphere’s premier critical communications and public safety event, Comms Connect, will welcome a keynote presentation and an expert panel from the newly formed Public Safety Network in New Zealand. The Public Safety Network is the new communications service that will be used by New Zealand’s frontline emergency services responders — Fire and Emergency, Police, St John and Wellington Free Ambulance.
One of the leads in this integration project is Neal Richardson from NZ Police, who will be one of two keynotes on the day to open the program for Comms Connect Melbourne on 20 October. His colleagues from PSN NZ will join him in a panel discussion at the event to cover lessons learnt, and positive outcomes so far achieved by the project.
Comms Connect Melbourne has been thwarted by COVID since its last instalment in 2019, with an excellent conference program and exhibition floor awaiting industry leaders in October.
Kylie De Courteney from NSW Telco Authority and Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons from Resilience NSW will join CTO of FirstNet USA Richard Reed and Neal Richardson (above) as keynotes, to follow Minister of Communications the Hon Michelle Rowland MP, who will formally open this year’s event.
