RadioComms Connect almost sold out

Tuesday, 21 June, 2011

With five months to go and an extra 30 stands added to the exhibition floor after 2010’s outing to cover the expected growth, RadioComms Connect 2011 is all but sold out.

It would seem that the radio communications sector - not just two-way radio, but wireless, microwave and the whole gamut of technologies that go toward unifying communications - has taken on this show and run with it.

Launched in 2007 with just a handful of exhibition stands, this year will see over 60 organisations exhibit with the aim of meeting the expected 400+ delegates and visitors, with representation from mining, public safety, utilities, hospitality, government and the private sector.

Paul Davis, national events manager for organiser WF Media, says of the growth, “It’s fantastic - after five years of hard work, with support from the main associations in the radio communications space, including ARCIA and the Australasian TETRA Forum, the event has really taken off. 60+ exhibitors, two days of quality presentations from local and international speakers, in-depth workshops, along with a new stream specifically designed for the small to medium-size dealers, ensure that whatever your involvement with radio communications, this exhibition and conference delivers.”

Once again, but possibly for the last time, as it appears to be outgrowing its current home, RadioComms Connect 2011 takes place at the Etihad Stadium, Docklands, Melbourne, 16-17 November.

“For the first time, 2010 saw 50% of delegates travel from overseas and interstate. This year we expect the number who travel to Victoria to be more like 60%, showing that this truly is a national show, with added support from Asia and Europe growing in terms of both exhibitors and visitors all the time,” says Davis.

Registration opens mid-August. Further information and full exhibitor list can be found at www.radiocommsconnect.com.au.
