Tait facility opens in China

Friday, 05 August, 2011

Beijing marks the third new international facility opened by Tait since January last year, and will serve as a base to support further growth in China and the Asia-Pacific region by expanding the company’s existing staff and offices there.

The new facility, in Beijing’s central Swissôtel complex, will exist as a wholly foreign-owned enterprise, expanding the existing sales office to include R&D, marketing, finance and services support. Up to 15 staff will be employed by the end of this year with a view to further expansion next year.

New R&D staff from China recently undertook a secondment to Tait’s headquarters in Christchurch, New Zealand, to gain further knowledge and expertise.

China is currently developing a wireless communication standard called police digital trunking (PDT) under the leadership of the Information and Communications Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security. This standard will facilitate the digital transformation of the Ministry's existing MPT analog trunking system.
