TechRentals turns 40 - happy birthday!
TechRentals has just turned 40, having begun serving customers through the sale and repair of electronic equipment way back in 1974.
TechRentals is a key part of TR Pty Ltd, a 100% Australian-owned and -operated company also incorporating TR Hirecom (two-way radio communications), TR Telecom (satellite phone and data), Vidcom (audio visual/staging rental) and TRVMS (test and measurement equipment calibration).
This year is the official 40th birthday for TR Pty Ltd.
Not long after the company began trading all those years ago, “it soon became evident that what was really required was flexible instrumentation options, particularly whilst equipment was being repaired or serviced”, said David Gallagher, chief executive officer, TR Pty Ltd. The company’s first rental was transacted in 1978 for only a few hundred dollars.
TechRentals has grown to integrate a range of electronic rental solutions to support business requirements, with solutions from industry-leading manufacturers such as Anritsu, EXFO, Motorola, Flir, Fluke, GE, JDSU, Keysight Technologies and Megger.
The company has expanded its offerings, through new services such as long-term rental and rental purchase options.
As well as a head office in Melbourne, there are eight locations around Australia, two in Malaysia and three in New Zealand (as well as a distributor) to support customer requirements.
“Today, we connect with over 80,000 people, and as we move towards our next milestone, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our past, present and future customers for their support and assistance over the past 40 years,” said Gallagher. “We look forward to serving the industry well for another 40.”
