Fastrax has introduced the IT520, the smallest GPS receiver in the company’s IT500 series of modules.
The device features a form factor of 0.4 x 14.0 x 2.3 mm, allowing easy use in a variety of applications, including asset tracking and navigation systems and battery-operated consumer products.
The IT520 provides all the same features and performance as the IT500, packed into a miniature form factor. The module takes up 50% less space than its predecessor. With the optional built-in USB 2.0 interface, it is suitable for GPS mouse and mini PCI card applications.
In addition, the company has introduced the UP501 GPS module with an integrated antenna. The updated and improved version of the UP500 is footprint and pin compatible with its predecessor.
The module is now based on the same Mediatek MT3329 GPS chipset as the IT520 and IT500. All these modules have 66 acquisition channels and 22 tracking channels, and feature -148 dBm cold start sensitivity and -165 dBm navigation sensitivity.
