RFT released for TasGRN P25 system
A request for tender was released on 24 November for a Tasmanian Government Radio Network (TasGRN), which will provide enhanced communication between key organisations.
The network will facilitate interoperability between Tasmania Police, Tasmania Fire Service, Ambulance Tasmania, State Emergency Service, Parks and Wildlife Service, Sustainable Timber Tasmania, TasNetworks and Hydro Tasmania.
This is a step towards Tasmania moving to a single P25-compliant radio network, bringing the state into line with emergency service communication standards used across Australia and around the world.
The TasGRN Project will replace the five separate networks currently in use by user organisations with a single, digital, P25-compliant radio network.
