Have your say on skills and training

On behalf of the Industry Reference Committees (IRC) that it supports, Australian Industry Standards (AIS) is calling for industry input on a range of issues that affect the aviation, transport and logistics, maritime, energy, water and utilities, public safety, police, fire, defence and corrections industries.

The input from industry will inform the development of the IRC Skills Forecast and Proposed Schedule of Work (formerly IRC Workplan).

The IRC Skills Forecast provides an in-depth industry analysis that includes an outlook for the future, identifying new and emerging skills and their associated training needs.

The Proposed Schedule of Work outlines the IRC’s recommended four-year plan for developing and reviewing training packages to address the industry intelligence gathered during the analysis process.

Once completed, the IRC Skills Forecast and Proposed Schedule of Work is then submitted to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) for approval.

The IRC Skills Forecast Survey and Call for Submissions are new steps taken by AIS and the IRCs this year. The input received during this consultation process will assist the IRCs to formulate their advice to the AISC on industry priorities and skills shortages, and will inform future updates to Training Packages.
