Hytera to extend TETRA network of Peru's national police
Hytera Mobilfunk GmbH Sucursal del Peru will continue to maintain and improve the Peruvian National Police’s (PNP) TETRA network after winning a contract to optimise the emergency services’ safety-critical communications.
Over the next three years, Peru’s Hytera team will expand and modernise its existing network in the Piura, Lambayeque, Trujillo, Cusco, Arequipa, Callao and Lima regions by providing a software update for the field ACCESSNET-T IP system, improved coverage in shadow zones and 24/7 support as well as upgrading the network’s capacity.
They will also install an ACAPI Application Lab — an application environment and test system — in order to develop mission-critical applications that comply with ACAPI and TETRA Standards.
Currently, the PNP network has more than 250 TETRA carriers, with nearly 20,000 handheld radios in use. It also includes over 120 dispatch consoles and the 911/105 Emergency System for the Lima and Callao metropolitan regions.
