The Municipality of Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, has selected Sepura DMR technology for its public safety organisations. This contract was achieved in conjunction with Global Telecom, Sepura’s channel partner in Mongolia.

Sepura’s DMR solution will replace the municipality’s legacy analog system while running alongside an existing TETRA infrastructure supplied by Teltronic (a Sepura Group company) in 2010.

This new system will meet the major initiative to address and improve risk prevention and disaster management in the Mongolian capital.

Sepura’s channel partner, Global Telecom, will oversee the migration from analog to digital for the entire municipality; it will be responsible for the complete installation and deployment of the new system and will deliver training to the public safety user teams.

“The superior quality of Sepura radios, the high levels of support provided throughout the bidding process and the extensive product portfolio presented were instrumental in securing this prestigious contract.

“Sepura radios will be beneficial to users operating in the city’s noisy streets thanks to their crystal-clear audio and will allow clear and uninterrupted communication, which is a vital requirement in emergency situations,” said Batgerel Chuluunnast, Global Telecom’s general manager.

"This is our first DMR success in Mongolia and we are delighted to be able to share it with Global Telecom,” said Nash Chou, Sepura’s business development manager.

Ulaanbaatar (photo below) is the capital and the largest city of Mongolia with a population of over 1.3 million. Located in north central Mongolia, the city is the cultural, industrial and financial heart of the country. It’s also the centre of Mongolia’s road network and is connected by rail to both the Trans-Siberian Railway and the Chinese railway system.
