NSW Telco’s prequalification scheme
The NSW government has announced ITS2573, a prequalification scheme for procurement of telco equipment and services.
The NSW Minister for Finance and Services, Greg Pearce, has announced the start of a new government prequalification scheme for the procurement of operational telecommunications equipment, infrastructure and services.
The ITS 2573 Prequalification Scheme is part of the wider reform of operational telecommunications that is being undertaken by the NSW Telco Authority. The authority has been working closely with emergency service organisations and other NSW Government agencies to ensure that the optimised scheme delivers what they need through a contemporary procurement system that aligns with today’s marketplace.
Key benefits of the new ITS 2573 Scheme include:
- Simplified access for NSW Government buyers and industry suppliers.
- Ranges of suppliers, from small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to large organisations, local and national businesses to allow agencies to match the right supplier to the right job.
- A performance evaluation protocol that enables government agencies to identify suppliers that can best deliver their requirements, as well as providing suppliers with the right information to better focus their service delivery to identified government needs.
- Ability for the scheme to evolve over time to keep pace with technology and the market.
- Increased competitiveness to enable all agencies to get better value for money.
