Tactical combat radio

Marconi's tactical combat radio provides robust and effective short range communication for soldiers, security forces and emergency services.

The Personal Role Radio (PRR) is a lightweight headset system that gives troops a tactical advantage on the battlefield. It enables soldiers to pass information amongst themselves during combat and at distance of up to half a kilometre.

The compact, lightweight and unobtrusive design also allows its use in covert security operations where a normal sized radio system would compromise the operative.

PRR incorporates advanced wireless LAN technology and, with spread spectrum techniques at 2.4 GHz, ensures low probability of interception and detection performance where many radios are co-located.

The unit has a highly integrated package, with a 256 channel capability that minimises interconnecting cables and replaces traditional, unreliable, close range communications techniques such as shouting, hand signals, whistles and flares.
