6000 Motorola TETRA pagers for German relief agency
The agency tasked with providing technical-logistic support to the German Government following a storm or flood — the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) — is to equip its first responders with 6000 ADVISOR TPG2200 TETRA two-way pagers from Motorola Solutions.
The agency, which assists with emergency repairs, supplies and communication for large-scale operations, said the equipment will ensure fast interaction between first responders when natural disasters strike.
Dr Fritz-Helge Voß, THW state representative for Bavaria, said he was pleased with the technology — which enables volunteers to quickly read and respond to messages via a bright, 2-inch colour display. GPS tracking is optional.
“It will enable us to remain at the same technical level as our partners in Bavaria`s integrated emergency system. Just like them, we will also be able to raise an alarm at any time in the future,” Dr Fritz-Helge Voß said.
Axel Kukuk, Country Manager for Germany at Motorola Solutions, said the technology would help the agency meet its growing responsibilities and demands.
“The requirements for first responders including the Agency for Technical Relief are constantly increasing — not only during the coronavirus crisis. Fast and reliable alerting and responding is of crucial importance,” Kukuk said.
