Airbus's secure comms for grand prix
Airbus extended its support to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last year as Formula 1’s official secure communications technology provider in the Arab emirate. The international auto racing took place at the 5.281 km Yas Marina Circuit on Yas Island.
Airbus deployed its range of Tetra and LTE solutions to help secure the race site and keep racers and spectators safe. Airbus’s TH9, TH1n, Radio Console System and Tactilon Agnet were used by security organisations to collaborate throughout the grand prix operations.
All solutions were equipped to enable fast and secure coordination between users. The TH9 Tetra radio provides clear audio and a large display. The voice feedback functionality lets users operate the device without looking.
Tactilon Agnet provides professional smartphone users with access to voice, video, multimedia, files and location data. It also enables sharing of information among members of a defined group at the push of a button. It has a user interface designed to save seconds during emergencies.
