Bangalore City Police deploys Zetron consoles
Zetron has partnered with Mistral Solutions to implement Zetron dispatch consoles in an integrated mobile command-and-control solution for the Bangalore City Police in Bangalore, India.
In response to the city’s growth and establishment as a major international destination and technological hub, the Karnataka state government recently invested in a Police Modernisation Plan to update and improve the security and law-enforcement operations of the Bangalore City Police.
As part of this effort, Mistral supplied Bangalore City Police with a fully integrated mobile command-and-control solution that includes surveillance and communications systems and Zetron consoles.
The mobile command solution has already performed at a number of high-profile government functions, such as the Karnataka State Republic Day Parade in January.
The solution is also being deployed at the Indian Premier League Twenty-20 cricket matches being held at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
“We are very proud that, as a result of our partnership with Mistral, Zetron consoles have been successfully deployed in a mobile public-safety application in India,” said Zetron Australasia Vice President and General Manager Ranjan Bhagat.
“Emerging Asian economies such as India can benefit greatly from unifying disparate technologies to provide a common operating picture for their rapid-response efforts,” added Bhagat.
“This project clearly demonstrates how combining Zetron communication technologies with Mistral’s powerful systems-integration capabilities can produce fully integrated communications solutions that are particularly effective for this market.”
Mistral CEO Mujahid Alam said that Zetron’s flexible command-and-control systems are the perfect supplement to the end-to-end solution offerings it provides to law enforcement, homeland security and other markets throughout India.
“The Zetron Australasian team’s excellent support helped ensure a satisfying experience for the end user,” said Alam. “We look forward to working with Zetron on other projects in India.”
Bangalore City Police was established in 1963 as the first professional police force in Karnataka. Bangalore, now officially known as Bengaluru, is the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka. With a population of over 10 million, Bangalore is the third most-populous city in India. Due to its high concentration of global high-tech firms, Bangalore is also known as the Silicon Valley of Asia.
