Canadian city transit selects Omnitronics' solution
RTL, the transit corporation of the Canadian city of Longueuil, has selected Omnitronics’ omnicore radio dispatch system to connect buses with operators at its Central Command & Communications Centre.
RTL provides bus services, including school services, as well as shared taxi services and other transit options for commuters across the five cities that comprise the Agglomération de Longueuil, Quebec.
The upgrade of its radio dispatch system aims to increase operational efficiencies to improve safety for staff and customers by streamlining and unifying communications.
Customised features will include an integration of intelligence from the customer’s transport activity management system which will deliver driver and vehicle data directly to console operators.
Other features will include an advanced call queue and the ability to dynamically create radio talk groups on a Tait DMR Tier 3 radio system.
The system will be installed and commissioned this year.
