DAMM to supply TETRA for Mumbai monorail
The Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA) has selected DAMM Cellular Systems A/S to provide TETRA mission-critical radio communications equipment for its Mumbai Monorail project.
The project will have two lines covering 19 km, with 17 stations when the second phase is completed. Consort Digital will be responsible for supply, installation, integration and commissioning of the entire project.
DAMM will supply TetraFlex to meet the requirements of the customer for a feature-rich, reliable and safe communication system. It is a completely IP-based solution with distributed architecture that provides fault tolerance to communication networks, such as the one being installed for the Mumbai Monorail. The product is integrated into the signalling system, public announcement system, onboard train communication system, telephony system and centralised recording system.
“Key to our successful rail solution is our decentralised architecture, being interconnected on pure IP-based backbone,” said Kjeld Pharao, CEO of DAMM.
“The project will be completed in record time due to modularity and ease of deployment of the DAMM outdoor base stations,” said Devdarsh Jain, director marketing at Consort Digital.
