Motorola adds broadband PTT services across Switzerland
Swisscom’s Business Customers division will be using Motorola Solutions’ 3GPP standards-compliant push-to-talk (PTT) solution, enabling the Swiss telecommunications provider to offer an instant communication service to its business customers. The PTT service connects individuals and groups instantaneously over Swisscom’s broadband network and allows it to offer priority usage to critical users in emergency situations.
Zermatt Bergbahnen, a Swiss cable car company, is one of the first companies using the new solution to improve operational efficiency and safety across 200 km of pistes in the Matterhorn mountain area. Its staff will rely on the PTT service to communicate and share information in support of daily operations, such as patrolling slopes, as well as to manage critical rescue efforts in emergency situations.
Zermatt Bergbahnen will also benefit from the range of multimedia features including push-to-video, push-to-text, geolocation, geofencing, device sharing and operational status message features.
As part of the contract, Motorola Solutions is also providing a range of rugged devices, including the TLK100, Evolve and LEX L11, which are designed to withstand harsh environments, deliver audio quality with noise cancellation, and have dedicated PTT and emergency buttons for intuitive use.
