Airmen from the US 379th Expeditionary Communications Squadron and 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron have taken down several inactive microwave dish transmitters from a radio tower at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

The transmitters were used to provide internet and phone communication to both the base and Camp As Sayliyah.

Base infrastructure improvements rendered the transmitters unnecessary, but they still posed a potential structural threat to the radio tower due to their significant weight.
