Statoil chooses Rohill to supply TETRA
A TETRA radio communication system will be supplied by Rohill for Statoil’s Johan Castberg floating production storage and offloading (FPSO).
The Johan Castberg (formerly Skrugard) field is situated approximately 100 km north of the Snøhvit field in the Barents Sea. The Johan Castberg field development concept includes a FPSO vessel and extensive subsea development, with a total of 30 wells, 10 subsea templates and two satellite structures.
The contract covers supply of digital radio communication solution (TETRA) and includes Rohill TetraNode systems for the infrastructure, ensuring radio coverage on the entire platform. The agreement includes both product delivery and deployment services.
“This will be our 12th offshore project with this solution and the biggest so far this year, showing the strength of our offer,” said Ansgar Birkeland, head of Oil and Gas at TC Connect.
“We have focused on winning this agreement and look forward to delivering best-in-class solutions for secure communication to the platform. We are extremely pleased to continue our relationship with Rohill and Statoil with the supply of TetraNode for the important Johan Castberg field.”
