Teltronic lands Denmark deal
Danish city Odense is installing a new light rail network to help alleviate traffic congestion by improving connections to the city centre and Odense main railway station.
To handle its communication needs, Teltronic has been chosen to supply its TETRA eNEBULA infrastructure and onboard radio equipment.
The system will provide voice communications for the drivers and network staff, and data services to support traffic control and regulation.
The TETRA system will be integrated with the TimeKeeper Intelligent Transport System application from Portuguese company Efacec.
The Odense Light Rail will have 14 kilometres of line, 26 surface stations, a command centre, 14 vehicles and 51 crossings. It is expected to carry 35,000 passengers daily and is planned to be operational by 2020.
