RFI has released its latest antenna supporting GSM-R rail communications systems.

The TLA4100/4200 devices are designed specifically for rail, light rail, bus applications and other similarly demanding transit and stationary applications.

With an omnidirectional peak gain of over 5 dBi and operating in all mobile bands from 824-960 and 1710-2170 MHz, the antennas also cover the 800 MHz TETRA and trunking bands as well as the 2.4 GHz ISM band commonly used in Wi-Fi applications.

In addition, the TLA4200 is also supplied with an active high gain GPS antenna for applications requiring location-based systems.

Housed in a UV-stabilised low-flame smoke and toxicity housing, the antennas are fully weatherproof with an IP68 rating.

The antennas meet European Traction Industry standards, NF-F-16-101/102 (materials standard), EN50155 (vibration standard), EN50124-1 (electrical isolation standard) and Deutch Bahn high voltage/current standards.
