The GTTS-2000B is an Iridium short burst data (SBD) battery-powered modem for tracking and tracing assets globally using the Iridium satellite network.
The Iridium and GPS antennas and battery are fully integrated into the rugged, weatherproof housing, requiring no wiring and ensuring easy installation. The optional magnet mounting onto a (ferrous) steel surface will automatically activate the unit.
The modem reports GPS location and speed at defined time intervals over the Iridium SBD network to the user’s PC/server. The reporting time intervals are controlled by an integrated motion sensor which distinguishes driving/sailing from standing still. Reporting frequency and other settings are ‘over the air’ reconfigurable.
The product can send approximately 3650 messages from one battery. If it is removed from the steel surface, it will send a tamper message and will switch itself off.
The device provides control and management of assets in areas without GSM/GPRS by offering satellite connectivity for remote monitoring, long-range asset identification and security alert systems.
