Laird Technologies has released its OC51505 vertically polarised, direct-mount omnidirectional antenna.

It operates in the 5150 to 5875 MHz band with 5 dBi gain and linear vertical polarisation that increases the range over hilly terrain and also minimises the reception of interfering horizontally polarised UHF and VHF signals. It is specifically designed to be used in indoor or outdoor WLAN applications

It’s rugged, lightweight, UV water-resistant housing is fitted with an integrated RF connector that is embedded in the base cap for direct mounting to WLAN access points. Special venting permits either upright or inverted orientation in outdoor locations.

It may also be pole mounted when separation from the AP is required for optimum positioning.
