Testadvance RRC101-IP series of RoIP interface units

Testadvance has launched the RRC101-IP series of RoIP interface units that with adapters allow users to send and receive analog and digital information to and from a remote radio via an IP network.

All units provide radio tx/rx control (PTT/squelch), analog signalling and audio transport via their audio port. The series supports raw, speex, µ-law and a-law audio codecs and transparent single and multi-tone signalling.

Serial and parallel connections are provided via the data port and include a transparent RS232 connection and up to 21 GPIO lines. Audio, serial and parallel data are configured via the web-browser interface. The units are available in standalone and 19″ rack.

Each unit is connected to the internet via its own ethernet port. User and RoIP interface functions are embedded within the unit’s application firmware, which also supports client-server services.

The user interface provides unit and communication status, I/O control, client-server configurations and system settings. Administrators can access and configure a unit remotely via its IP address and a web browser.

The device is standalone providing a quick drop-in solution for a single-channel connection. The unit supports tx/rx control, audio, one transparent serial connection and up to seven GPIO lines.

In its simplest application, one unit is deployed at the radio site and connected to the radio via the audio port. A second unit is at the user site with a user terminal connected to its audio port, providing voice and PTT.

The RRC101-IP-19 is a 19″ rack-mount module. It provides tx/rx control, audio, a transparent serial connection and 21 GPIO lines via front-panel and rear-panel (VG96) ports.
