Dominican Republic goes with TETRA system
The Dominican Republic has selected Hytera to provide a communications system and a secure 911 system which will encompass the whole National District and Santo Domingo province together with neighbouring municipalities from five government sites.
The project will include a 911 system, a camera surveillance system and the communications infrastructure with terminals. The solution will enable public safety agencies in the city of Santo Domingo to work effectively together and give them the capacity to respond quickly when needed.
Hytera says that parts of its system go beyond the required specifications: IP67 as opposed to IP55 and 2500 mAh batteries instead of 2000 mAh. Of further benefit is the fact that TETRA technology, being open standard, enables interoperability between equipment from different manufacturers.
