Hytera gets contract to extend Caribbean island's TETRA system
The Dominican Republic has awarded a contract Hytera Mobilfunk to extend the Caribbean island nation’s TETRA system.
The contract was signed last month and follows the implementation of the TETRA network by Hytera in 2013. The system provides radio communications and a secure 911 service for the Santo Domingo area, including a camera surveillance system.
Currently, the system comprises six base stations, one switching unit, communications infrastructure, terminals and a comprehensive network management system.
The extension will see four base stations added.
The system enables all public safety groups to work effectively together to deal with security and emergency situations.
