Le Mans race uses Hytera radios
The world’s oldest endurance car race, the annual 24 Hours of Le Mans, was held again in Le Mans, France, in June. With huge crowds of spectators (over 245,000) plus lots of officials and organisers, a resilient communications system is required to keep the event running smoothly.
Hytera’s dealer in France, Modulocom, won the contract from the organiser - the Automobile Club de l’Ouest - to supply three networks: one to handle race security and access to the paddock; another for the drivers’ parade; and one for the company that set up the event’s installations.
The contract involved three RD985 repeaters and 200 PD705 hand-portables.
