Sepura supplies 25,000 TETRA radios to Red Cross and fire brigades
The Bavarian Red Cross (Bayerisches Rotes Kreuz, or BRK) has selected Sepura TETRA radios for all rescue services organisations in the Bavarian federal state.
The agreement includes the provision of over 15,000 radio terminals and vehicle installations of Sepura SRG3900 mobile radios. The contract was won by Selectric GmbH, Sepura’s sole partner in Germany.
“Rescue services operators need reliable communications in order to carry out their often dangerous operations where lives can be at stake,” said Johann Peter Hausl, head of EMT at BRK. “Sepura’s product offering more than fulfils our users’ specific communications needs: in particular, the hand-portables’ outstanding audio quality enables clear communication at all times as it can filter out any background noise and the fast call set-up time and the ease with which talk groups can be created and modified enables smooth and efficient operations.”
Sepura has also awarded two contracts to Selectric for the supply of TETRA radios and accessories to the fire brigades in the cities of Ingolstadt and Augsburg in Central and Western Bavaria respectively.
Both contracts will supply the fire services of these two Bavarian provinces with over 10,000 Sepura TETRA radios, comprising a combination of STP9000, STP8X Intrinsically-Safe ATEX/IECEx hand-portables and SRG3900 mobile radios plus accessories.
