HiveNet and Vizor rapid tactical repeaters

Codan Radio Communications has announced two tactical repeater products, HiveNet and Vizor, as additions to their Land Mobile Radio (LMR) product range.

HiveNet is a rapid repeater network solution suitable for the most demanding, secure mobile and fixed operations. A HiveNet mobile repeater network can link a number of HiveNet repeaters together to provide reliable, fully encrypted P25 communication that is easy to operate and deploy, but can also move and adapt to a changing operational environment. With a rugged design, total P25 compliance and low power draw, HiveNet is suitable for undercover operations, vehicle convoys or virtually any other wide-area public safety emergency.

The HiveNet repeater uses the company’s LMR technology. A network of HiveNet repeaters provides wide-area coverage available for on-demand radio, and is a self-healing network where repeaters can be added and removed on the fly without any configuration, making it a suitable solution for communications on the move.

Vizor is a transportable repeater that has a number of special features that include: complete AES-256 encryption over repeater links; transparent communications; quick swap duplexers for channel agility; and a flexible control interface, all contained in a light and rugged Pelican case.

Vizor is small, light and has the flexibility to operate as a base station and a repeater.
