Icom NZ Compact IC-F1000 series VHF transceiver

Icom has announced the New Zealand launch of the handheld IC-F1000 series of VHF transceivers, which are rugged, lightweight, compact and meet IP67 standards as well as military 810 specifications.

A low-power circuit design with a newly designed slim-type lithium-ion battery pack enables the IC-F1000 to last up to 14 h on power-save mode. The unit has man down and lone worker functions.

Another feature is a channel announcement where the radio announces the channel number as the channel knob is rotated, without users having to take their eyes off what they’re doing to look at the radio.

The IC-F1000 series is suitable for industries where the environment is intense or harsh, such as the forestry, engineering and construction sectors. The IC-F1000 is also suitable for organisations that demand a reliable and sturdy analog transceiver, such as security companies, shopping malls and government offices.
