The BHX2 multi-channel 25 kHz narrowband transceiver from Radiometrix has a 500 mW (+27 dBm) RF output and a receiver sensitivity of -118 dBm (for 12 dB SINAD) with a range of up to 5 km.

Its standard operating frequency is the 458.5-459, 1 MHz British band; however, factory-tuned custom variants covering any 5 MHz switching band between 420-480 MHz are available.

With a supply voltage range of 5.5-15, the unit draws 350 mA for transmitting and 30 mA for receiving.

It has a total of 128 channels (channel spacing 25 kHz), configurable via the RS232 interface.

Automatic squelching is activated when there is no RF signal at detectable levels or if the non-coherent noise is high enough to block out weak signals.

The module delivers data rates of 5 Kbps. It conforms to both EN 300 220-3 and EN 301 489-3 standards and incorporates a 1200 baud half-duplex modem which is compatible with other Radiometrix devices.
