Multi-channel transceiver

The Radiometrix UHX1 is a 12.5/25 kHz narrowband FM multi-channel VHF transceiver unit suitable for use in the 169.4-169.475 MHz European band.

Squeezed into a package of 67 x 30 x 12 mm, it can provide a reliable data link capable of supporting rates of up to 5 Kbps of 1200 baud modem link over a range of more than 1 km.

The transmitter section has a software-adjustable output power of 1-500 mW (+27 dBm) in 1 dB steps and the receiver has a sensitivity of -118 dBm (for 12 dB SINAD). A total of 128 operating channels is available and the dual VCO design allows for large frequency offsets between transmitter and receiver.

It can also be supplied on any 2 MHz switching bandwidth between 140 to 175 MHz. Total current drawn from a 5 V supply during transmission is 330 mA maximum for a full 500 mW RF output, while the receiver requires 25 mA and may be powered from a supply of between 3.1 and 15 V.
