Airwave Solutions Australia has launched Airwave Acuity, an integrated software package with a suite of analysis performance tools. It was developed solely in Australia and grew out of the needs of mission critical service delivery.

Communications networks are a critical resource for any responding agency during major incidents or emergencies where public safety is affected. It is imperative that the network is able to run trouble-free.

Already installed and in use by the Statutory Authority responsible for public safety networks in Victoria, the package can be used by all types of radio, IP data and communications networks, whether in the area of public safety or in the wider business community.

Airwave Solutions Australia CEO Malcolm Keys said that the system provides unparalleled transparency into network operations. “Put simply, you get visibility across an entire network solution. The system looks at how well a network is running overall. Airwave Acuity is new and game changing in many ways.”

The system has the ability to analyse and report on the real time performance of any network, including a variety of open standard wireless technologies (ie, P25, 3G and 4G, mobile data and paging) and can exist as a standalone application on a single PC or be spread across multiple physical servers to share the analysis load.

“You could characterise Airwave Acuity as a performance monitoring, measurement and visualisation solution,” Mr Keys said, “because it uses the latest in Microsoft visualisation technology and can seamlessly display complex business relationships in real time. This means live as it happens - not after the fact.

“The system manages data from a multitude of sources, computing platforms and propriety hardware,” he said. “These are all integrated into a single transparent solution and the beauty of it is that it can be accessible and equally useful to all levels of users in an organisation; from operators on the front line to upper management looking at the data to see how the business is faring.”

The package is a suitable solution for a wide range of users; from mobile communications networks, such as those used by emergency services, taxis, couriers and trucking to large multinationals, targeting service outcomes and wanting clear and precise answers about how certain areas of their business are performing.

It uses a Microsoft Windows platform including industry standard relational database technology (SQL server): Microsoft.Net 4.0. Extensible plug-ins allow it to link with embedded systems, Linux environments, third party monitors, such as HP OpenView, Proxima and IBM Netcool web services and many other data sources.
