Trio Datacom has introduced the M series Gen II MR450, a simplex/half duplex remote digital data radio modem.
Developed from the original M series, this latest generation allows the MR450 to create a communications system that would previously only have been possible with an expensive data radio network.
The modem now includes a range of features such as: 1 to 5 W transmitter output, simultaneous data streams to allow for multiple vendor devices/protocols to be transported on the one radio network, integrated C/DSMA collision avoidance that permits concurrent polling and spontaneous alarm reporting operation in the same system and store and forward facility.
Network management, remote diagnostic configuration and field firmware upgrades are available using a recommended base station and TVIEW+ software.
The device has a rugged construction and full -30 to +60 °C operational capability making it suitable for harsh environments and the varying needs involved in SCADA and telemetry systems for both point to point and point to multipoint (MAS) applications.
The modem is complemented by matching full duplex base and repeater stations, including a redundant hot standby version.
