Tenrod has introduced Sanyo's Oscon capacitors which unlike aluminium electrolytic capacitors use a highly conductive organic semiconductor as the electrolyte.

With higher conductivity, the electrolyte layers can be thinner offering several advantages over conventional aluminium electrolytic capacitors.

The higher conductivity delivers a lower ESR (equivalent series resistance) feature resulting in a more compact package.

The higher conductivity electrolyte makes the capacitors more thermally stable making them more suitable for low temperature operations of below 0°C.

The devices have a long life, 50,000 h at 85°C and good frequency characteristics.
